Covid-19: Only 60 percent suburban services to operate in Mumbai on Sunday

MUMBAI: Both Western Railway (WR) and Central Raikway (CR) will run around 40 percent less services while Metro and Mono rail services will be completely shut due to call of Janata curfew by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
WR spokesperson said, "Only 801 services of WR will be run on Mumbai Suburban section as against 1278 on Sunday. We request commuters to stay indoor and step out only when it is urgent."
CR spokesperson said, " We will run 1100 services which is 60% of the average suburban services.
All Aman lodge to Matheran services will remain cancelled too."
There will be no mega block on CR and WR.
Both CR and WR will also cancel all mail/express trains that originate between 4am and 10pm on Sunday. Also passenger services till 10 pm will be cancelled on Sunday.
WR spokesperson further said, "A total 373 long distance trains have been cancelled across WR, including 111 mail/express trains and 262 passenger trains. This includes 40 mail/express trains and 26 passenger trains of Mumbai division."
CR spokesperson said, "We have cancelled around 120 trains, including 60 that originate from various stations of Mumbai."
Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd (MMOPL) spokesperson said, " Mumbai Metro One (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar) will suspend operations on Sunday to encourage people to stay at home and make “Janta Curfew” an unprecedented success."
MMRDA has also declared that there will be no services of Monorail on Sunday.
