VIZIANAGARAM: A 32-year-old man from Vizianagaram was tested negative for coronavirus infection on Sunday.
Health department authorities observed that the man had been under treatment for the past four days and had responded well, having recovered completely.
They added that the patient will be kept under medical watch at the district hospital for some time.

“The situation is under total control in Vizianagaram district. The only suspected patient so far has tested negative. To keep things tight, apart from the dedicated 28 isolation beds in both Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram hospitals, we also have 17 dedicated ventilators in case of emergency,” observed the district hospital coordinator G Nagabhushan Rao.
DMHO Dr Ramani Kumari said that the medical staff and district administration are keeping a strict watch on each and every household.
"The door-to-door survey has covered almost 90% of the households,” Dr Ramani Kumari said adding the five foreigners, who were quarantined for the last four days, were asymptomatic and healthy.
Sources in the district administration stated that the 'Janta Curfew' was a complete success in the town as people remained indoors as urged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and authorities.
