Youth stabbed to death by friend in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: A youth was stabbed to death by his friend over a petty issue in Memco area of the city late on Sunday night. The accused was arrested on Monday.
Police said the accused, identified as Ajay Chauhan (20), stabbed his friend Dashrath Vanzara (26), a resident of Anil Vakil chawl near Premnagar in Memco. Chauan and Vanzara were co-workers at a transport firm in Raipur area.“Chauhan and Vanzara were good friends but they had recently entered into a dispute pertaining to their jobs. On Sunday evening, an altercation broke out between the two, following which Chauhan flashed out a knife and stabbed Vanzara," said V D Vala, inspector with Shaherkotda police station.
Vanzara was stabbed in his neck. His body was found lying in a pool of blood by his relatives who called up 108 ambulance. However, as the ambulance got delayed, Vanzara was taken in an autorickshaw to the civil hospital in Asarwa, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested Chauhan under section 302 of IPC.
