Patna University shut till March 31

Patna University (PU) on Tuesday announced closure of all its wings, including postgraduate departments, institutes and colleges, till March 31 in view of the coronavirus lockdown.

PATNA: Patna University (PU) on Tuesday announced closure of all its wings, including postgraduate departments, institutes and colleges, till March 31 in view of the coronavirus lockdown.
PU has directed all its teachers and non-teaching staff to be available on their contact numbers given in the university’s telephone directory. Besides, the heads of departments and principals of colleges have been told to keep the phone numbers of all teachers and employees of their respective institutions so that they may be contacted if their services are needed.

Faculty members, including guest teachers, have been asked to prepare academic notes, research projects and online content on different topics during the period of closure as notified by PU earlier. The duty of employees, who are engaged in essential services like health and cleanliness, will be decided by the registrar.
All classes have already been suspended in PU since March 13.
All varsities to remain closed: In a notification issued by additional chief secretary R K Mahajan on Tuesday, the education department announced closure of all universities and colleges in the lockdown areas of the state till March 31.
