No new positive case in Vadodara, 3 reports awaited

Vadodara: No positive case of COVID-19 were reported from Vadodara on Tuesday and condition of the six who are under treatment is said to be stable.
Reports of three patients, who are currently under treatment, are awaited.
A prisoner from Vadodara Central Jail was admitted in the isolation ward of SSG Hospital late on Monday night after which the total number of those in isolation had reached 14.
By evening however, the patients under isolation dropped to 11.
“The jail inmate has also tested negative. We have already informed the police about his medical condition and they will go ahead with the process now,” said Dr Rajeev Daveshwar, medical superintendent of SSG Hospital.
According to sources, the inmate had come to jail on March 20. He is a resident of Ahmedabad and was detained by Ahmedabad city police under Prevention of Anti-social activities Act (PASA).
Vadodara’s chief district health officer Dr Uday Tilawat informed that so far 41 samples of patients suspected of COVID-19 have been tested in the district of which six have tested positive, 32 have tested negative.
Samples of two suspected cases have been rejected while result of one is awaited.

Sources said the GMERS Gotri Medical Hospital too had three patients who have been admitted in the isolation ward. Earlier, in the day, reports of seven out of eight COVID-19 suspects, tested negative of the deadly virus.
The six who have tested positive so far including 49-year-old NRI businessman from Spain and five others who belong to the same group of family and friends, who had either travelled together to Sri Lanka or had come in contact with those who had travelled.
Three of them had travelled to Sri Lanka. Two others had not travelled with this group but had come in close contact and got infected.
