LUCKNOW: Nearly 31 years after they contributed a brick and Re 1.25 each at the peak of Ram Temple movement, Hindu families in 2.85 lakh villages across the country will get three photographs, of Ram Lalla Virajman, of the model of proposed temple and Maharishi Valmiki who penned the epic Ramayan, delivered to them at their doorsteps by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) cadres.

The gift would be a reciprocation of their contribution and support, and part of a countrywide campaign VHP plans to undertake from March 25, the onset of Navaratra, to April 8.
The campaign would be low key with cadres reaching out to people individually after VHP asked supporters not to take out Shobha Yatra.
VHP national spokesperson, Vinod Bansal said the idea is to reach out to people in 2.85 lakh villages across country since the shifting of Ram Lalla idols from the makeshift temple to a temporary structure by Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust would be a subdued affair due to coronavirus lockdown.
"These families had contributed a brick and Re 1.25 each in 1989. We have maintained record of all the contributing families. It is time to tell them that their long cherished dream is going to become a reality. We will urge them to stick the picture of proposed Ram Temple on the main door of their house," he said.
VHP has also appealed to Hindus to hoist a saffron flag atop their houses.
Sources said VHP would work in close coordination with the trust headed by Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and the plan is to crowd fund the construction of Ram temple and not taking any contribution from government.
"Any further decision on financing the temple work would be taken by the trust," said a senior VHP functionary.
