With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement over complete lockdown for 21 days, Patnaites are doing their best to stay fit being at home. Most fitness enthusiasts have decided to perform yoga, aerobics, pilate and cardio exercises while they are in self-quarantine. This effort will not only keep them fit but it will also help them to cope up with the stress.

Practicing a few simple yoga asans is an easy option to prepare their body to fight against covid-19. Shashi Kumar, a fitness expert said, “Some of yoga asans including, balasana, trikonasana, sahaj pranayam, anulom-vilom and makarasana are easy and can be performed without any help of instructor. People can refer to the yoga apps on internet and perform it at home. Sahaj pranayam and anulom-vilom clears our respiratory track and cures many diseases such as asthma, migrane, high-blood pressure, depression and many others.”
Youngsters are also practicing zumba and other dance forms to have fun during their workouts. Surbhi Narayan, another college student said, “I used to hit the gym every morning to stay fit. However, to fight against coronavirus we all have to stay indoors and work on our immunity. Therefore, I have decided to enjoy zumba sessions at home. My younger sister Mansi Narayan guides me with the zumba sessions. It is dance-based exercise form that helps us to stay fit.”
While yoga keeps our body fit, meditation relaxes our brain. Amrendra Kumar Singh, a meditation expert, said, “Meditation works like a magic when we are suffering from a disturbed mental state. It will not only help us to boost our immunity, but it will also help us to cope up with the stress positively. During this lockdown, people must meditate for 15 minutes daily keep themselves refreshed and rejuvenated. I have planned to connect with my students via internet to take 15-20 minutes meditation class every day.”
