PATNA: The Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport wore a deserted look on Wednesday following suspension of flight services. The entrance gate of the airport was barricaded to stop visitors from entering the premises.
All the help desks and ticket counters were also shut. Sanitation workers were busy disinfecting the airport premises.
Work on construction of a new terminal building and other auxiliary buildings (cargo, fire station, ATC tower and multi-level car) was also suspended.
Airport director Bhupesh C H Negi said the construction work would remain suspended till further order.
“CISF personnel have been deputed to stop visitors from entering the airport premises. They work in three shifts. The offices are also closed as no cargo flight lands here,” Negi added.
