Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan donates Rs 2 crore, Tejasvi Surya launches helpline

Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan has released Rs 2 crore from his Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund for purchase of emergency equipment for treatment of Covid-19 patients at Victoria Hospital.

BENGALURU: Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan has released Rs 2 crore from his Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund for purchase of emergency equipment for treatment of Covid-19 patients at Victoria Hospital.
He also handed over a letter in this regard to chief minister BS Yediyurappa. The state government is preparing Victoria hospital complex with 1,700 beds for treating Covid-19 patients.
“Mohan has mentioned in his letter that the amount be utilised for emergency purchase of personal protection equipment kits, ventilators, N-95 respirators, surgical masks and other protective equipment required in ICUs,” said a release from his office.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya launched a Bengaluru South Coronavirus Task Force, in association with Bengaluru South and Bengaluru South East Division Police, to attend to the needs of senior citizens and vulnerable sections of the constituency.
“As part of the task force, Surya launched a helpline — 99464 99464 for citizens to avail assistance. The helpline will be able to assist senior citizens and the economically weaker sections procure food, groceries and medicines. It will also provide emergency non-Covid-19 medical assistance to citizens, especially pregnant women,” a spokesperson from Surya’s office said.
