KANPUR: A group of 11 migrant workers, hailing from Malda district of West Bengal, who fled from their workplace in Delhi and Greater Noida on their bicycle after the countrywide lockdown, reached Kannauj on Friday.
The police rushed them to the district hospital where they underwent thermal screening and other medical tests. Later, they were made aware about precautionary norms to check the spread of coronavirus and then were allowed to proceed for their journey.

“We intercepted 11 migrant workers riding bicycle at district border. Most of them were employed in factories at Delhi and Noida,” said a police official.
They were on way to Malda district in West Bengal.
The workers said that they had left their work places in Delhi and Greater Noida on March 23. “We will reach our native villages in the first week of April,” said Chavi Lal, one of the labourers.
