Thirteen held for roaming around Vadodara without purpose

VADODARA: City police arrested 13 people on Saturday from different areas of the city for roaming around without any purpose during the lockdown.
The detection of crime branch (DCB) has been keeping a watch in different areas of the city using the CCTV cameras and drone cameras. Using these technical sources, the DCB sleuths reached the locations where these persons were sitting or roaming around in groups.
“When our men asked them for sitting, they did not have any proper answers, so we arrested them,” said a police official.
Those who have been arrested have been identified as Rakesh Devipujak, Ranchhod Devipujak, Imran Pathan, Manu Gajwani, Tilok Gajwani, Jatin Pandit, Devraj Sharma, Ghanshyam Rathod, Girish Rathod, Dhananjay Singh, Mohammed Azim Hakim, Karim Arab and Moin Malek. Police have registered five cases against them at Gotri, Karelibaug and Raopura police stations for violation of public notification, doing an unlawful or negligent act and committing a malignant act likely to spread an infection that is dangerous to life.
Since Friday, the crime branch has been using drone cameras to keep a watch on internal areas and arterial roads where the physical presence of policemen is not there.
