When Brook’Skylie Harvey’s eagerly-anticipated sixth birthday was canceled by the coronavirus pandemic, her mom Stacey refused to stand idly by.

Determined to ensure her daughter’s big day wouldn’t pass unmarked, she began researching party alternatives, with her incredible solution now the talk of the family’s neighborhood.

Stacey, from Elk Grove in California, explained that a pal had inspired the idea with a joke, saying: ‘She was kinda making a joke, “You should do a driveby party.”

‘And I was like, wait a minute that might work.’

Stacey quietly put out the word among Brook’Skylie’s friend’s parents, but told her daughter that the party had been canceled and that they would play outside on the driveway instead, to avoid causing any upset if no-one showed up.

Thankfully, her fears were unfounded, with friends, neighbors and loved ones pulling up outside the Harvey’s home for a solid hour last week, armed with presents and good wishes for the birthday girl.

Everyone observed current social distancing rules aimed at stopping the spread of the virus, with one well-wisher even passing the youngster a gift while wearing sterilized latex gloves.

Strangers who heard about Stacey’s plan drove by too and honked their horns to make a fuss of Brook’Skylie on her big day.

Stacey was delighted by the big turn-out, and said: ‘During a crisis like this, a pandemic like this, humanity wins. This is amazing.’

The birthday girl loved her big surprise – but dad Jesse Slocum says it went so wellthat Brook’Skylie has even higher expectations for her seventh birthday next year.

He told Fox40: ‘We’ll start looking for tickets to the moon.’
