LUCKNOW: Plumbers and electricians will be allowed to go on calls in the state after chief minister Yogi Adityanath made it clear that people providing such services would be given travel passes.
Anticipating shortage of wheat flour in the state, several district magistrates had requested the government to ensure procurement of wheat. Accordingly, 40,935 metric tonne of wheat has been purchased from 56 districts through the open market sale scheme.
This will now be sent to flour mills through the Food Corporation of India and DMs have been asked to ensure that flour is sold at reasonable rates.
Additional chief secretary, home, Awanish Awasthi said that grocery shops have been roped in to carry out door-to-door delivery.
The government has started 527 community kitchens to provide cooked food to the homeless and daily wage labourers.
Awasthi added that the food and civil supplies department has distributed ration to 1,94,44,201 ration card holders in the state.
Meanwhile, the CM helpline has contacted 58,752 gram pradhans and 11,631 councilors and told them to prepare a list of people who have come to their homes from other states and abroad during the past week.
