Amid nationwide lockdown, over 2 lakh people are expected to enter UP in a day
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked all district magistrates and commissioners to prepare a list of people who entered the state just ahead of the countrywide lockdown.
All such people will be put under compulsory quarantine.
“About one lakh people have entered the state in last three days. We are expecting at least another 2 lakh or so reaching their hometowns and villages in a day.
The CM has said that officials should collect their details like contact numbers, names and addresses and make the list available with the district administration and agriculture production commissioner. These people should be kept under surveillance and put under compulsory quarantine,” an official said. Officials have also been asked to identify foreign nationals in their areas and ensure medical tests of those who might be showing symptoms or have come from countries hit by coronavirus. Addressing DMs, commissioners and senior police officials through video conferencing, the CM said they should jointly patrol their respective areas to ensure that people remain inside their homes.
“The CM said officials in districts bordering Nepal should ensure that roads are completely clear and no crowd is allowed,” an official said.
