NAVI MUMBAI: Public representatives in Navi Mumbai are reaching out to citizens in their constituencies during the coronavirus crisis. From checking on senior citizens and providing them help, to arranging blood donation camps for cancer centre, MLAs in Navi Mumbai are doing their bit for their constituents.
Belapur MLA Manda Mhatre said, “I have a data of senior citizens in my jurisdiction and my team of BJP workers are supplying them groceries and medicines at doorstep.
Citizens are contacting me for help and it is readily being provided by coordinating with the civic authorities. I have donated a month’s salary of around Rs 2.30 lakhs to the PM relief fund to combat the Coronavirus outbreak.”
Mhatre added, “After a fortnight, the daily wage labourers will be the most affected by the lockdown. Hence, I shall set up a centre in the premises of my house to provide them uncooked rice, dal and vegetables that will suffice them till the lockdown gets over on April 14.”
Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur said, “At the Tata cancer hospital in Kharghar, there is a huge shortage of blood platelets for cancer patients. Hence, our BJP Yuva Morcha team has been arranging blood donors. In the past two days, around 45 blood donors have been provided to the hospital. Even blood banks at MGM hospital, Kamothe and at Rotary Club in Panvel will be provided with blood donors. I am coordinating with the Panvel civic authorities to ensure that those who are home quarantined are not facing any inconvenience due to isolation.”
Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik said, “I am coordinating with the NMMC authorities to ensure that those home quarantined and those under observation at quarantine centre in Vashi are being taken proper care of.”
