More foreign returnees in Patna to undergo test

Amid increase in number of coronavirus cases, the state health department on Sunday decided to test blood samples of all those who came to Bihar from foreign countries on or after March 18. The details of those who came to the state from abroad between March 10 and March 18 will be verified.

PATNA: Amid increase in number of coronavirus cases, the state health department on Sunday decided to test blood samples of all those who came to Bihar from foreign countries on or after March 18. The details of those who came to the state from abroad between March 10 and March 18 will be verified.
Earlier, samples of only symptomatic people were being sent for test. State health department principal secretary Sanjay Kumar said now samples of those who came to the state on or after March 18 will be tested.
“We will first start with those who came to the state on or after March 21,” he added.
Sources in the health department said the move would help trace the Covid-19 suspect.
Bihar on Sunday not only reported four fresh cases, but also witnessed maximum number of passengers enrolling for observation in a day. According to state health department, 469 people were put under observation on Sunday, taking total number of such people to 2,376.
