State halts farm loan waiver scheme

The state government has temporarily halted implementation of the farm loan waiver scheme as the staff working on the ground has been diverted for coronavirus measures. Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar said this past week this is being done as farmers too cannot travel to these centres due to the lockdown and are also wary of giving their biometric impressions.
