    PM Modi praises Omar Abdullah's message of social distancing in tweet informing about his uncle's demise

    In a tweet, PM Modi condoled the demise of Omar Abdullah's uncle.
    Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah's uncle and lauded his message to workers to not gather either at the residence or the graveyard adhering to the social distancing guidelines.
    "My uncle Dr Mohd Ali Mattoo passed away earlier tonight after a brief illness. At this difficult time the family appeals to everyone to respect the guidelines to not gather either at his residence or the graveyard. Your prayers from your homes will give peace to his soul," Abdullah wrote on his twitter handle.

    Omar Abdullah was released last week after serving nearly eight months in detention.

    The country is under a 21-day lockdown starting March 25 to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

    The government has advised everyone to practice social distancing as a means to stop the Covid-19 disease from spreading.
