    RIL extends Rs 500 crore to PM Care, Rs 5 crore to Maharashtra, Gujarat each

    MUMBAI: Reliance Industries has announced that it will donate Rs 500 crore to the 'PM Cares Fund' and Rs 5 crore to Gujarat's Chief Minister Fund, in addition to the donation given to Maharashtra earlier to support the government in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
    Last week, RIL had announced a detailed plan to support India's fight against Covid-19, which includes medical help through its hospital, healthcare facilities using the Jio platform, and providing free fuel for all emergency service vehicles, and a donation of Rs 5 crore to Maharashtra's Chief Minister's Relief fund.

    "We are confident that India will conquer the coronavirus crisis sooner rather than later.

    The entire Reliance Industries Limited team is with the nation in this hour of crisis and will do everything to win this battle against Covid-19," Chairman Mukesh Ambani said in a press statement.

    Reliance Foundation Hospital in collaboration with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), has set up a dedicated 100 bedded centre at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai for patients who test positive for Covid-19. The group’s H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital has also offered to set up special medical facilities to quarantine travellers from notified countries and suspected cases.

    The company that along with Reliance Foundation, it has committed to offer fifty lakh free meals in the next 10 days across the country and scale it up going ahead.

    It is also providing one lakh masks daily for health-workers and caregivers, and thousands of personal protective equipment daily for health-workers and caregivers.

    RIL will also provide free fuel for all emergency response vehicles.

    The company has earlier announced that it will use the Jio platform for healthcare and learning from home. Jio will provide basic JioFiber broadband connectivity, wherever it is geographically feasible, without any service charges, for this period. For all existing JioFiber subscribers, Jio will provide double data across all plans. While Reliance Retail will provide essential supplies daily for millions of Indians via stores and home deliveries.
