Trevor Noah compares Trump to Tiger King star Joe Exotic: ‘He makes everything about him’
Host criticised Trump for his response to the coronavirus outbreak
Late-night talk show host Trevor Noah has compared Donald Trump with Joe Exotic, the star of Netflix’s hit documentary Tiger King.
Exotic is the eccentric tiger trader at the centre of the new "bonkers" series, who is accused of breeding big cats unethically and attempting to hire someone to murder his rival, animal rights activist Carole Baskin.
In the latest edition of The Daily Social Distancing Show, Noah said: “Joe Exotic is not only one of the weirdest people you will ever meet in your life, he could also be president of the United States.”
He added: “Hear me out. This man has all the character traits of a commander-in-chief. Everything. For instance, one thing you’ll realise about Joe Exotic is he makes everything about him, which apparently very presidential.”
Noah was referring to Trump’s recent bragging about the large number of people watching his coronavirus briefings and suggesting he is a “ratings hit”.
The presenter also said that, like Trump, Exotic is “the most disorganised person you will ever meet” and he “sees conspiracies everywhere”.
Stephen King also recently criticised Trump’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, saying his actions are “almost impossible to comprehend”.
