Louisiana State Representative Larry Bagley talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the restrictions put in place on Louisianans travelling to Texas by that state's Governor Greg Abbott.

Bagley, whose district includes part of the state bordering on Texas, says the Abbott order, "A scare tactic, more than anything else."

Bagley tells KEEL listeners that his home in Logansport is within a half mile of the state line and that he has spoken with both Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers from the Lone Star State and that he questions whether the Abbott move is Constitutional.

More on the restrictions from dallasnews.com:

"Travel by road from Louisiana into Texas at any location will require a 14-day self-quarantine by those arriving in a bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Sunday.

The road travel order is the same as the earlier order for air travelers from New Orleans. Exceptions include commercial, military, health care providers, first responders and 'critical infrastructure' workers.

He said the order will be enforced by the Texas Department of Public Safety at and near entry points from Louisiana. A DPS spokeswoman did not immediately respond to request for information about how the agency would enforce the new order."
