Eleven on ‘leisure tour’ arrested by Vadodara DCB

VADODARA: The detection of crime branch (DCB) on Tuesday swooped down on 11 persons found roaming aimlessly on the streets without any valid reason and arrested them from different areas of the city. Crime branch sleuths said that the accused were nabbed from Harni, Tandalja, Alkapuri, Gotri and Vasna Road areas based on complaints they received on their WhatsApp number and pictures from the drone cameras.
“We had urged people to capture images of people who are moving around without any reason in their vicinity. We got a few photos following which we acted against those who flouted the lockdown rules,” said Jaydeepsinh Jadeja, DCP (crime).
Over the past two days, the cops have begun flying drone cameras in different areas to capture images of those who were moving out in public or gathering in groups. Also, the cops have been getting many photos of people venturing out. Cops said they first question the citizens found on the roads and if they fail to give satisfactory reasons, they are either arrested or their vehicles are detained.
