Recently, the Mumbai police had arrested a man after they discovered that a man was spreading fake news on WhatsApp groups to create panic by saying that the Indian Army would be deployed in the city to enforce the lockdown. The authorities have been warning people to desist from sharing unreliable information on social media as fake news and rumours make it more difficult for them to fight the spread of the disease. Meanwhile, Google has cancelled all its Fool's Day pranks this year. According to the report, Lorraine Twohill, head of marketing at Google, wrote in an email (first obtained by Business Insider) to the company's managers, “Under normal circumstances, April Fools’ is a Google tradition and a time to celebrate what makes us an unconventional company.”
