Maharashtra tech teachers urged to go online at state colleges
MUMBAI: Teachers from technical colleges in the state have been told to use online platforms to share lessons with students, give them assignments and assist students with queries. They have been told to share course-based videos via email and WhatsApp, and conduct lectures via online conferencing platforms. The government will monitor work-from-home activities.

While most arts, science and commerce colleges had completed coursework, lectures at technical colleges, including engineering, management and polytechnic, were hit after the lockdown.
Higher & Technical Education Minister Uday Samant told Directorate of Technical Education to seek feedback from teachers and to monitor the process. "The idea is not to let teaching and learning get hampered during the lockdown," he said.
Directorate of Technical Education director Abhay Wagh said they were creating awareness across platforms that All-India Council for Technical Education recommends online teaching. "These are free. There are courses even on MOOC platforms like Coursera and Edx, which teachers can use. They can take lectures on platforms like Zoom, said Wagh.
