GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath personally supervised evacuation of 38 tourists of Chennai and Prayagraj, who were stranded in Nepal.
On the instructions of Yogi, DM Maharajganj monitored the rescue operation and at present the tourists are staying at a guest house in Sonouli. Indo-Nepal border was sealed on March 22, and Yogi got information that a total 38 tourists - 32 of Chennai and others of Prayagraj - who went to Nepal to visit Pashupati Nath temple were stranded in Nepal's Behlia area.
On the instructions of the CM, DM Maharajganj got them back and after medical examination put them up at a guest house in Maharajganj.
"The tourists were brought to Sonouli from Nepal on March 27 and they were kept in a guesthouse in the city after medical examination and on March 29 they were sent to Gorakhpur via UPSRTC bus and all of them of healthy," DM Maharajganj Ujjwal Kumar told TOI on Tuesday.
