Stocks in the news: RIL, Aurobindo Pharma, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Ports, Future Retail and ONGC

Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 66.25 points or 0.81 per cent higher at 8,226, indicating a positive start for Dalal Street. Here are a few stocks which may buzz the most in today's trade:

Reliance Industries: The Mukesh Ambani-led company said it will raise Rs 25,000 crore through non-convertible debentures to fund its operations.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ): The company said it achieved a throughput of 223 million tonnes during the financial year 2019-20, registering a growth of 7 per cent in cargo volume YoY.

Aurobindo Pharma: The company said the $900 million deal to acquire Sandoz Inc's US-based generic oral solids and dermatology businesses has been mutually called off.

Hero MotoCorp: The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp reported a 42.4 per cent decline in total sales at 3,34,647 units in March.

Mphasis: Private equity giant Blackstone is consolidating its position in IT services firm MPhasis by acquiring additional stake, taking advantage of the fall in share price.

Strides Pharma Science: The drug firm said it has ceased distribution of its ranitidine tablets in the American market as USFDA has asked all manufacturers to withdraw the drugs from the market immediately.

Tyre stocks: The government is considering a proposal to put import of tyres under the restricted category to promote domestic manufacturing, according to sources. Currently, there are no restrictions on tyre imports.

Cadila Healthcare: The drug maker said it has received final approval from the US health regulator to market generic Lamotrigine extended-release tablets, used to treat certain types of seizures.

ONGC: The state-owned firm will lose about Rs 4,000 crore in revenue and start making cash losses after the government slashed the natural gas prices by a steep 26 per cent by benchmarking it against rates prevalent in gas-surplus nations.

Cipla: The pharma major Cipla announced the successful completion of Phase-3 clinical study for generic fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder indicated for treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

SBI: BSE's India International Exchange (India INX) on Thursday said state-owned SBI has listed green bonds of USD 100 million (about Rs 750 crore) on its debt listing platform.

Future Retail: Fitch Ratings said it has downgraded Future Retail's rating and put the company on Rating Watch Negative (RWN) list reflecting heightened risk to its liquidity position.

Tata Power: The company has concluded the sale of its entire 50 per cent stake in South African joint venture
Cennergi to Exxaro Resources Ltd for ZAR 1,550 million (around Rs 659 crore), the company said on Wednesday.

TVS Motor Company: The company reported a 55.5 per cent decline in total sales in March at 1,44,739 units. The company, which primarily makes two-wheelers and three-wheelers, had sold 3,25,323 units in March 2019, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Coal India: State-owned Coal India has taken various initiatives to continue dry fuel supply to various sectors, including power, even during the lockdown period, Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi.

Sundaram Finance: Leading non-banking finance company Sundaram Finance has appointed D Lakshminarayanan as the managing director of its subsidiary Sundaram Home Finance.

Bharti Airtel: The telecom operator said the company has advanced investments and added capacities to meet a surge in data demand.
