Renowned director Sudhir Mishra’s father DN Mishra passed away in Mumbai on Thursday. In his late eighties, he was battling health issues for a while. Sudhir Mishra shared, “My Dad Dr Devendra Nath Mishra passed away this morning. A Lucknow boy, he was many things. A Mathematician who went on to become a Professor of Mathematics at Sagar University (Madhya Pradesh), Jt.
Education Advisor, Minister of Education Dep. Director CSIR, Head of MP Science n Technology n Vice. Chancellor BHU.” DN Mishra was the son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dwarka Prasad Mishra. He was also founding member of the Lucknow Film Society and thus contributed to cinema.
Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani paid his tribute to Sudhir’s father. He tweeted, “Terrible news regarding the passing away of a gentleman, visionary thinker and teacher. Most don’t realise the contribution of Sudhir’s parents to the film industry of today. They opened their house and hearts for all dreamers that walked into it. #RIPDNMishra “
Just a few days ago when a video had gone viral, Sudhir had clarified that he hadn’t stepped out of his Mumbai house as he was looking after ailing parents. Our heartfelt condolences to Sudhir and his family.
