Health care professionals' music video boosts morale amid coronavirus outbreak

THE HOPE WAS TO STRING TOGETHER A GRASSROOTS INITIATIVE THAT WOULD SUPPORT OUR PROVIDERS, BUT ALSO OUR COMMUNITIES AND OUR PATIENTS ACROSS THE WISDOM.

Medical responders are doing everything they can to keep up morale. They also want to assure the community they are going to do everything they can to help those who need it. The emergency room staff from MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore had some fun, lifted morale and let out some stress dancing in a lot outside of the hospital.There's a video with surgeons, nurses, therapists and trainers singing Carole King's 1971 hit, "You've Got a Friend."MedStar Union Memorial Hospital's orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Hinton organized the effort.“That song really speaks to a universal sense of reassurance, a friendship and being in any sort of condition together,” said Hinton. Hinton said it's a metaphor for something most of us are dealing with, being by yourself, but working together as a team. He and some musician friends recorded the music in a Catonsville studio.“Then we sent out little snippets to 20 or 25 of our providers to record into their cellphones,” said Hinton. They posted it to Facebook and it's been a hit.“The hope here was to bring together a grassroots initiative that would support our providers, also our communities and our patients across the system,” said Hinton. “Times are worrisome, but we're going to get on the other side of this together.”
