NEW DELHI: Mukesh Kumar Singh does not have much to do during his duty hours these days. But this is a comfort neither to him nor his family. The short and stocky Singh leaves home in the afternoon and comes back only around midnight, leaving his family in tenterhooks about his being infected by the insidious novel coronavirus. They would like him to stay home, like the rest of India, but Singh cannot afford the luxury of saying no when duty calls — nor the Rs 755 he earns daily as a bus marshal on Delhi Transport Corporation’s route no 261 between Nand Nagri depot and Sarai Kale Khan.
