Two local Samajwadi Party members were shot dead while four others sustained critical injuries during a clash between two groups over payments related to MGNERS in Gonda on Friday evening.

LUCKNOW: Two local Samajwadi Party members were shot dead while four others sustained critical injuries during a clash between two groups over payments related to MGNERS in Gonda on Friday evening.
The police have arrested the prime accused, who is also a Zila Panchayat member, along with his seven others aides.
CM Yogi Adityanath issued instructions and also warning to the SP and the DM to work out the case at the earliest.
He said the accused must be arrested and the National Security Act (NSA) slapped against them
The deceased were identified as Devendra Pratap Singh (50) and Kanhaiya Pathak (48).
4 hurt SP workers in KGMU trauma centre
Four others who sustained injuries included Ranu Singh, Brij Mohan, Chandra Mohan and Vijay Singh alias ‘Tintu’, also affiliated to SP. All the four have been shifted to KGMU trauma centre in Lucknow.
Police said that the deceased duo had informed district administration about irregularity in disbursement of MGNERS payment in Paraspatti Majhwaar village under Umribegumganj police station area.

“On Friday a team had come to inspect and talk to the villagers. In the meantime, the deceased also reached and started citing the gross anomalies in payment done by the pradhan,” said station house officer, Umribegunganj, OP Chauhan.
In the meantime, Atul whose mother is the pradhan reached the spot. “The duo first entered in verbal spat which later snowballed into a fight after which Atul opened fire at Devendra and Kanhaiya and fled along with his aides,” said Chauhan narrating the sequence of events.
On the information, SP Raj Karan Nayyar reached the spot and took the victims to district hospital.
“Both the brother duo died during treatment, while others were shifted to Lucknow,”said Nayyar. He also said that the prime accused Atul along with his six aides has been arrested.
