MUMBAI: FIRs have been filed in Nanded and Ahmednagar against 45 Tablighi Jamaat members.
The Nanded police on Sunday registered criminal cases against 10 Indonesian nationals under the Foreigners Act, 1946, the IPC and the Epidemic Diseases Act. They had participated in the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi. Two people from Delhi who accompanied them to Nanded, were also booked.

An IPS official said they reached Nanded on March 15 and were staying in a local mosque. "They did not make themselves available for medical examination. They are quarantined in the Government Medical College, Nagpur. We have taken their samples," he said.
The Ahmednagar police filed FIRs against 35 attendees, including 29 foreigners, who were at the event. The foreigners had violated visa rules by participating in a religious event. They were staying in local mosques. Additional superintendent of police Sagar Patil said local police were not informed about their arrival.
"Four foreigners and 14 locals who came in contact with them tested positive," said an officer.
