S Saunand, assistant regional director of Ignou, said, "We were thinking about who all to reach out to as there were students who had registered for various programmes, such as graduate, postgraduate, diploma courses.
That is when we thought of using Facebook Live. A link was shared with all the students subsequently."
MS Parthasarathy, regional director at Ignou’s Pune division, said students from Nashik, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur participated in the session. "This is the first time an online orientation was held. We excluded students from Pune, as the numbers were high, close to 200. But, we will soon conduct the same for them in a phased manner. Our aim was to give students an idea of how the Ignou study system works," Parthasarathy said.
