PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday that it would not be possible for the government to have a financial
package for the
business sector since the state itself is currently going through an economic crisis.
Sawant told reporters that due to the lockdown, every business big or small has suffered. He said that he has been getting messages and emails inquiring whether the state government would unveil a
financial package.
“People should not expect a financial package from the state,” he said.
“People should understand that the state is also going through an economic crisis,” Sawant said. “It is not possible for the state to announce a package for businessmen. As and when it becomes possible for the state to do so, it will be done.”
