Axel Tuanzebe says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has overseen a tactical change at Manchester United by shifting the approach on to how they can harm opponents.

Prior to the suspension of English and European football, United were on an 11-match undefeated run - equalling the start of Solskjaer's caretaker reign - beating Chelsea and Manchester City 2-0, and dishing out 5-0 and 6-0 drubbings against Club Brugge, LASK Linz and Tranmere Rovers.

Jose Mourinho cut his teeth in coaching by compiling dossiers on opponents and that has informed his successful managerial style throughout a successful career, but also been divisive. Rio Ferdinand complained with the former United manager David Moyes 'it was always how to stop the other side' and that became 'a worry' within the squad.

Solskjaer has used a back three home and away against Liverpool and City, and twice at Stamford Bridge this season, and is still synonymous with counter-attacking. Tuanzebe, in the squad for the derby triumph last month, insists Solskjaer has placed the emphasis on what United can do to the opposition, rather than vice versa.

"It's unfortunate to have our unbeaten run stopped," Tuanzebe told the MEN. "The buzz around the changing room was really high, we were going into games really confident.

"We'd obviously spent time on tactics, but we didn't feel like we needed to really spend so much time on the opposition. It was about us and how we played our game and what we needed to do to beat the opposition. So when the focus is constantly on us, we feel good about it and we're just finding ways to beat teams and it's happening. We'd like to get back into that routine again.

"It's obviously a hard time having this stopped but it takes hard work to build that momentum up again on the fly. We have a good squad to do so, we have the belief from the manager, it's upwards and onwards for us right now."

January recruits Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo have had immense impacts on United's revival and Ighalo could make his loan move permanent, although United do not have an option to buy the 30-year-old.

Fernandes, 25, immediately lifted the club with his presence and has scored three goals and provided four assists in eight starts. "They've been good," Tuanzebe added. "They've come in quietly, which everyone respects, and they build their way up.

"You can see in their performances they're quality players, we just want them to keep bringing that to the table continuously to help win us games. You never know what to expect from a new signing, especially coming to Manchester United; with the pressure on their ability. These two players have come in and been a very good addition to the squad.

"Ighalo's strong [in training], you can see with his hold-up play he's very strong, but I like that, I like a battle. You can only want to train what it's like to replicate in games and he's one of those who can bring that to the table. So every time I come up against him, it's always a good training session."
