Student body helps stranded Nagas in Rajasthan

Stranded Naga students in Rajasthan with the relief food items provided by NSUR through the financial assistance from CMRF.

Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Union, Rajasthan (NSUR) has been extending help to Nagas stranded in the state due to the nationwide lockdown by providing them relief materials.

NSUR, in collaboration with Samarpit Sathi Foundation in Jaipur, have provided relief items to more than 50 Nagas stranded in Malviyanagar Sector- 11 and 12 at Jaipur, Rajasthan, a press release informed.

NSUR, through Linda Newmai, a social worker, collaborated with Team Sos Corona and provided cooking fuel (LPG) and rations to the stranded Nagas at Jagatpura and Malviyanagar in Jaipur. The union has also extended assistance to 10 university student tenants to procure essential commodities at Gangrar, Chittorgarh.

The student body, under the aegis of nodal officer Shanavas C, Principal Director of School Education, Government of Nagaland had received an amount of INR 1 lakh from the CMO Relief Fund on April 2, 2020.

NSUR has extended its gratitude to Shavanas C, Linda Newmai, BL Puruhit and Samarpit Sathi Foundation, Team Sos Corona, ADM Jodhpur NL Mehra,  Rajasthan Police, NSF president Ninoto Awomi, NSU presidents in cities and all volunteers who have rendered their services to the Nagas in Rajasthan during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Further, NSUR has requested the “entire fraternity of the Nagas in Rajasthan not to panic but to be conscious of the deadly virus and to take every preventive measure at the same time refraining from the practice and feeling ‘ism’ and negativity among the Naga brothers,” it added.
