DMPD hasn't issued any social distancing violations since gatherings were banned
The Des Moines Police Department has not issued any citations for COVID-19 social distancing violations, even though gatherings of 10 people or more have been banned since last month. "I think what we've found is voluntary compliance is coming along very quickly," said Sgt. Paul Parizek, with Des Moines police. "They don't wanna mess with this any more than we do. So when we tell them to break them up to have."Parizek said officers focus on educating residents and businesses. While a last resort, citations or arrests could still follow violations.

The Des Moines Police Department has not issued any citations for COVID-19 social distancing violations, even though gatherings of 10 people or more have been banned since last month.
