Hyderabad: Private medical colleges to provide 15,000 beds to treat infected

With the steady increase in number of covid-19 cases in the state, the state health authorities have roped in private medical colleges for using 15,500 beds facility for covid-19 patients if the need arises.

HYDERABAD: With the steady increase in number of covid-19 cases in the state, the state health authorities have roped in private medical colleges for using 15,500 beds facility for covid-19 patients if the need arises.
Health Minister Eatala Rajender said on Wednesday all the 22 private medical colleges staff and infrastructure will be used only for corona treatment, with this 15,040 beds will be available, he said.
While currently the state health department is only using government teaching hospitals for housing positive patients, the Gachibowli stadium hospital will have another 1500 beds facility ready in a week’s time said health authorities. The private medical colleges have said that they will coorperate.
