    Lockdown, Day 16: Centre approves 3-phase plan to ward off the virus as India tally nears 6000

    Synopsis

    A 100% centrally-funded 5-yr scheme to strengthen healthcare systems has been approved by the government. The package will be implemented in three phases - from January 2020 to June 2020, from July 2020 to March 2021 and from April 2021 to March 2024. However, the outlay has yet to be specified.
