Mandya: District in-charge
minister K C Narayanagowda visited the
containment zone in
Swarnasandra Colony here on Saturday and instructed officers to ensure
stricter implementation of the
lockdown.
In a meeting, he asked
deputy commissioner Venkatesh to keep a
tight vigil on containment zone and take all necessary swift measures to contain the spread of Covid-19. MLAs C S Puttaraju and Annadani Kumuda said though the government withdrew biometric system, fair shop owners and food department officers and denying foodgrain to people citing server problems.
Narayanagowda warned of strict action if food department officers are found harassing and fleecing people.
In another meeting, agriculture minister B C Patil told officers to ensure farmers do not suffer due to the lockdown and make arrangements for the transport and sale of their crops.
Meanwhile, residents in the containment zones alleged that essential commodities are not supplied to them.
