PATNA: Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, will be the fifth testing cente for the samples of coronavirus in
Bihar.

Nitish Kumar on Sunday informed that Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has given necessary approval to the state government for beginning testing of covid-19 samples at the SKMCH, Muzaffarpur. “Testing at the SKMCH will begin soon," CM said in a statement after holding a review meeting with senior officials of health department.
At present, there are four testing centres for coronavirus samples in Bihar.
These testing centres are working at the
Rajendra Medical Research Institute (RMRI), Patna,
Indira Gandhi institute of
Medical Science (IGIMS) Patna, the
Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Patna and the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in Darbhanga.
Earlier, the state government had urged the Centre and the ICMR for granting permission for beginning testing centres at the SKMCH and the AIIMS-Patna.
“The ICMR has given certain instructions for the AIIMS-Patna, before allowing a testing centre there. Works are being done as per the instructions,” Principal Secretary (health)
Sanjay Kumar informed the CM at the review meeting.
