AGRA: In a horrific murder which was captured on camera, a physically challenged man from both legs shot dead a 62-year-old woman in UP's Kasganj district, as the victim refused to sell her home.
The incident occurred at around 10.30am on Thursday morning in Hodalpur village of Soron police jurisdiction, which is nearly 150km away from Agra city.
The deceased was identified as Shyamvati, neighbour of the accused Dev Kishan Bashisht alias Monu.
After more than an hour long of search and combing of the area, police nabbed the accused from his friend’s (Virender) home, where he was found hiding.
Before been taken to police station for interrogation, Monu told local media, that he shot Shyamvati in property dispute. She was selling the property to a muslim family.
Speaking to TOI, Sushil Ghule, superintendent of police Kasganj said, "Initial investigation revealed that the accused wanted to illegally takeover the victim's house, who used to live alone after her husband left for ascetic life. However, we found that one of the relatives of the accused Monu had sold the house to the woman, and now she was planning to resell the same house for cash."
In the minute long video, the accused can be seen loading his country made pistol multiple times to shoot Shyamvati who attempted to escape the fire. Victim was cleaning her utensils, when Monu came with loaded pistol.

Local police is now searching for any criminal history of the accused.
"It was a horrific murder and the video too is ghastly. Don't understand why didn't anyone attempted to save the woman instead of making video," said officer Ghule.
"...Monu don't shoot...Leave her...somebody save her..." people were found screaming in the video, but none came near the accused, who cannot walk due to polio infected legs. After the incident Monu went to hide at his friend’s home.
SP Kasganj further said, "As soon as the lockdown ends, we will move court to appeal for fast trial. We have enough evidence against him. FIR will also be lodged against Monu’s friend who gave him shelter to hide at his house. Further we are also exploring the legal action against the local residents, who didn’t call police and neither went to rescue the woman but instead engaged in shooting the video."
By the time this report was filed, police lodged an FIR against Monu under IPC section 302 (murder) and 25 arms act.
According to police sources, accused Monu is brother-in-law of local political figure, while his friend Virender at whose home Monu was hiding, is a bed ridden patient with paralysis
