Gujarat: 35-year-old woman tests positive for Covid-19 in Tapi district

Tapi district recorded first Covid-19 case after a 35-year-old woman tested positive late on Monday night.

SURAT: Tapi district recorded first Covid-19 case after a 35-year-old woman tested positive late on Monday night.
According to sources, the woman has been identified as Kansaben Gamit, a resident of Maypur village near Vyara town. The district health department has started quarantining her contacts and increased surveillance in the village.
Meanwhile, three positive cases reported from Valsad district late on Monday which borders Maharashtra.
Valsad had not reported any infection till Monday.
Also, the first case detected in Navsari district on Tuesday. A 42-year-old man from Hansapore village in Jalalpore taluka of Navsari tested positive for the virus. Navsari was also free from the virus till Monday.
Tapi is a predominantly a tribal-dominated district in South Gujarat. Only Dang district has remained coronavirus free in the region.
