Belagavi: There was something to cheer for among the
Belagavi district health department personnel on Sunday, when a
couple – a 40-year-old woman and 50-year-old man – who effected a complete
recovery from
Covid-19 was
discharged from the
Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS). With their discharge, the number of patients who have recovered in Belagavi rose to six.
BIMS director Dr Vinay Dastikop said that the couple had been treated in accordance with the guidelines prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Also on Sunday, two infected patients were discharged in Ballari, and another sent home after recovering from Covid-19 in Vijayapura.
Ballari deputy commissioner SS Nakul said that a man and woman, who were tested for the presence of the novel coronavirus before they were discharged, had recovered and been sent home.
In all, Ballari has recorded 13 Covid-19 cases, and in all, including the two patients who were discharged on Sunday, five have recovered from the infection.
Meanwhile, in Vijayapura, the first patient who tested positive for the Covid-19 infection in the district was discharged on Sunday. The 60-year-old woman had been admitted to the hospital complaining of cardiac distress and diabetes. She also showed signs of severe acute respiratory illness.
