Four of family test positive in Namakkal
Coimbatore: A six-month-old boy, his parents and grandmother tested positive for Covid-19 in Namakkal district on Sunday.
District collector K Megraj said, “The family members were neighbours of a positive Covid-19 patient.”
The patients were shifted to the government medical college hospital in Karur and their health condition is stable, he added. Till Sunday, the number of positive cases recorded in the district stands at 59.

He said the district administration was strictly monitoring the lorry drivers and others who had entered the district recently and had directed them to remain in home quarantine.
Meanwhile, the Tirupur district has recorded two more positive cases on Sunday and took the total number of cases to 112. The district had not recorded any positive cases in the last two days.
A 40-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were neighbours of a patient who had tested positive for the virus, an official of the district administration said. The patients were shifted to the ESI hospital in Coimbatore for treatment.
Similarly, a 29-year-old woman was tested positive for the infection in Salem. The source of infection is yet to be identified. She is undergoing treatment at the government hospital and her condition is said to be stable.
