Haryana: 39 Nanded returnees quarantined in Ambala, tested for Covid-19

The health department on Thursday collected samples of 39 people for Covid-19 tests, after they returned from Nanded in Maharashtra to Ambala late on Wednesday.

AMBALA: The health department on Thursday collected samples of 39 people for Covid-19 tests, after they returned from Nanded in Maharashtra to Ambala late on Wednesday.
The returnees, who belong to different parts of Haryana and Delhi, have been brought to Kamboj and Shanti Devi dharamshalas in the City from Punjab in a bus, district administration said.
"As per the Haryana government's instructions, we received 39 people from Punjab state authorities at Shambhu border on Wednesday late night.
They were brought to Kamboj and Shanti Devi dharamshalas, where they have been quarantined,” district civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh said.
“We have collected samples of all 39 returnees for Covid19 test and whether they report negative or positive, they would have to complete the quarantine period of 14 days,” added Dr Kuldeep.
"Out of the 39 returnees, 11 are from Ambala; 7 from Delhi; 6 from Guhla-Cheeka in Kaithal; 5 from Yamunanagar; 3 each from Karnal and Fatehabad; 2 from Kurukshetra; and 1 each from Kaithal and Pinjore, Panchkula,” Ambala SP Abhishek Jorwal said.
