Gujarat: Blood cancer patient from Tapi district tests positive for Covid-19 in Ahmedabad

According to Tapi district health officials, the man had been admitted to Surat's SMIMMER hospital for cancer treatment between 26 and 30 April but he was refferred to Ahmedabad on April 30 for further treatment. On May 1, his samples were taken for Covid-19 test and it came positive on Saturday.

SURAT: A 35-year-old blood cancer patient from Intvai village of Tapi district tested positive for Covid-19 at a cancer hospital in Ahmedabad on Saturday. According to Tapi district health officials, the man had been admitted to Surat's SMIMMER hospital for cancer treatment between 26 and 30 April but he was refferred to Ahmedabad on April 30 for further treatment. On May 1, his samples were taken for Covid-19 test and it came positive on Saturday.
Chief district health Officer, Tapi district, Dr Harshad Patel said: "Medical team of health department reached the village to take precautionery measures and all those people who came in contact with him willl be traced and quarantined including his family members."
"Till now, two persons hae tested positive for Covid-19 in Tapi district.
Currently, there are total 32 people are under quarantine in Tapi district," said an official.
