Tapi cancer patient tests positive

Surat: A 35-year-old blood cancer patient from Intvai village of Tapi district tested positive for Covid-19 at cancer hospital in Ahmedabad on Saturday. According to Tapi district health officials, Vinayak Padvi, had been admitted to Surat's SMIMMER hospital for cancer treatment between April 26 and 30. He was later referred to cancer hospital in Ahmedabad for further treatment.On Friday, his samples were taken the report on Saturday confirmed him to be infected with coronavirus.
Chief district health officer of Tapi district Dr. Harshad Patel said that a medical team has reached Padvi's village and are trying to trace all those who came in contact with him. “His (Padvi’s) immediate family members have been put under quarantine,” said Patel.
