Mob attacks Birbhum police patrol party

Suri: A police patrol team was assaulted on Saturday night by a mob at Husnabad on the outskirts of Suri. According to police, the team led by OC (traffic) Suman Pramanik had chased away a group of people violating lockdown norms. A youth fell to the ground while fleeing.
This triggered anger among the villagers, who alleged that he was injured by police.
The mob started pelting stones and vandalized a police bike. A large force from Suri police station led by DSP Abhisek Mondal rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Three persons were detained.
