LUCKNOW: As many as 63 people escaped from a quarantine facility in Siddharth Nagar district on Thursday. A massive search operation was launched after which all 63 were traced and brought back to the quarantine facility.
After investigation, police will lodge a case against them for fleeing the restricted area. So far, as many as 600 people have escaped from different quarantine centres in Sultanpur, Hathras, Azamgarh, Hardoi, Bahraich, Sitapur and Hardoi in the past six weeks.
Most of them were traced and have been booked.
In the last week of April, as many as 100 people were quarantined at a public inter college in Sadar. On Thursday evening, while counting was on by authorities, 63 people were found to be missing. Later, senior police officers were informed.
Siddharth Nagar SP Vijay Dhull said that circle officer of Sadar was asked to launch a manhunt. “On Friday morning, all were found,” said Dhull.
