CHINTAMANI: Naresh Naik, 31, a
police sub-inspector at
Chintamani Rural station, has not availed a single day’s leave ever since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. When he asked for a two-day leave from Wednesday, there was no way his seniors could say no.
For, Naik was to tie the knot on Thursday, but he also had assured his superiors that he would be available for duty on call.
Thankfully, there were no contingencies on Wednesday and early Thursday as well in the Chintamani Rural police station limits. Naik tied the knot to Monika of Gauribidanur between 5 and 5.30am at Sri Muktheswara temple at
Murugamalla near Chintamani.
Not more than 30 persons including close relatives and senior officials including Chikkaballapur SP Mithun Kumar and DSP Srinivas attended the wedding.
Belonging to the 2010 batch of PSIs, Naresh Naik is from Madhugiri in Tumakuru district and has served at various places including Chickmagaluru, Bengaluru and KGF, his batch mate D Ranjankumar, PSI Dibburahalli in Chikkaballapur district, said.
